This will be our most important meeting in this new millennium

Airlines today see the internet as their very own reservation office and they view us, the travel agents, as competitors, rather than the valued sales tool that we were and still are. 
They seem to have forgotten that we were and still are their backbone and their strongest selling force.

In this transition, from man-powered to engine-powered travel planning, we must learn how to successfully take back 
our position as a valuable and necessary supplier of knowledge and service to the travelling public. And for that we must be reimbursed! 

The Information Highway has been built. The foundation is in place and we, the travel agents, are for sure going 
to loose our footing unless we right now join forces and show, the airline industry, as well as the travelling public, just how powerful we can be. 

To this summit we have invited, from all corners of the world
consolidators and travel agents.

Agents who,
- have good local airline "deals"
- or negotiated fares either with airlines or GSA´s 
- and/or are GSA´s for airlines 
- or have a website offering online bookings of flights, cars, and hotels.

It is AITA´s goal, to facilitate cooperation between trustworthy agents, across national borders, worldwide on various levels. 
Only united can we compete with the airlines own booking sites as well as the mega sites of Travelocity and Expedia.
The success of any organisation or any company of any size comes down to the so called "culture", that exists within. 
Between us we can create a business culture that will feed profitability for all of us. It will foster innovation.

* Fares offered by our members will be better than any of those sites mentioned above.
* A few companies will offer technology support at special rates to AITA members.
* By joining forces we can better afford development of improved booking engines. Todays engines have seen little improvement over the last 5 years. More intelligence=Better search result=More purchases
* We will be having the most competitive and complete hotel and car rental database for online reservation due to local contracts we commonly share with each other.
